PINE BLUFF, Ark. — In an impressive display of offensive strength, Donovan Eaglin accounted for 145 rushing yards and crossed the end zone five times as Alabama A&M dominated Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a score of 52-24 on Saturday.

Alabama A&M’s potent rushing attack totaled 346 yards for the game, establishing their ground game as a significant advantage throughout the contest.

The Bulldogs took control early in the second quarter following a failed fourth-and-2 attempt by UAPB near midfield. Eaglin’s initial touchdown came on a 17-yard run, setting the tone for Alabama A&M (4-5, 2-3 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference) for the remainder of the match.

Throughout the second quarter, Eaglin continued to shine, scoring on runs of 18 and 2 yards, further expanding their lead. He then contributed two additional touchdowns from three yards out in the third quarter, leading to a lopsided score of 49-17.

For UAPB (3-7, 2-4), BJ Curry found the end zone with a 14-yard rush in the first quarter. The Golden Lions also saw Tavon Hardwick make a notable play, returning an interception for a touchdown from 85 yards out in the second quarter. Mekhi Hagens capped the game for Arkansas-Pine Bluff by throwing a 17-yard touchdown pass to JaVonnie Gibson in the waning moments.

Curry recorded a total of 59 rushing yards on 10 carries, while Gibson led the receiving corps with 86 yards on six catches, but it wasn’t enough to counter Alabama A&M’s overwhelming performance.
