ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Saturday, Luke Bailey showcased his talents by throwing two touchdown passes, leading Drake to a 22-19 victory over St. Thomas (Minn.) and maintaining their undefeated status at the top of the Pioneer League standings.

With this win, the Bulldogs extended their impressive league winning streak to 17 games, a run that began on October 22, 2022, making it the longest current winning streak in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

In the matchup, Bailey completed 20 out of 26 pass attempts, amassing 167 yards along with his two touchdowns, albeit with one interception. The Bulldogs struggled on the ground, managing only 38 rushing yards throughout the game.

For St. Thomas, Hope Adebayo stood out with 99 rushing yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Tak Tateoka had a solid performance as well, completing 16 of 29 passes for 194 yards, which included a touchdown and an interception.

A pivotal moment in the game occurred in the fourth quarter when Shane Dunning kicked a 52-yard field goal, allowing Drake to take the lead permanently. Just three minutes later, the Bulldogs secured an additional safety to further their advantage.

Despite the challenging situation, Tateoka connected with Colin Chase for a 44-yard touchdown pass with only two minutes remaining, bringing the score closer. Earlier in the game, Adebayo managed to tie the contest at 10 with a 1-yard touchdown run just 16 seconds before halftime.
