SAN MARCOS, Texas — In an impressive display of skill, Kaden Gumbs dominated the court with a stellar performance, tallying 27 points alongside 10 rebounds in Texas State’s commanding victory over McMurry, with a final score of 102-62 on Friday night.
Gumbs also contributed defensively, recording three steals for the Bobcats, who improved their season record to 2-0. Drue Drinnon was another key player, racking up 21 points and demonstrating his shooting prowess by hitting 7 out of 12 attempts from the field, including a remarkable 5 out of 8 from beyond the three-point line. He also grabbed six rebounds, adding to the team’s overall performance.
Additionally, Josh O’Garro showcased his efficiency by shooting an impressive 5 of 7 from the floor, including making 1 of 3 from downtown. O’Garro also excelled at the free-throw line, hitting all six attempts, which led to him finishing the game with 17 points, along with contributing five rebounds and dishing out six assists.
On the opposing side, the War Hawks had their offensive leader in Matt Pena, who put up 15 points in the game. Teammate Josh Alcocer chipped in with 10 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bobcats’ overwhelming performance.
