PRINCETON, N.J. — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Dartmouth emerged victorious over Princeton with a score of 26-17, thanks largely to Grayson Saunier’s impressive performance, scoring two touchdowns on 1-yard runs in the second quarter. Dartmouth, now holding a record of 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League, showcased strong offensive drives, culminating in Saunier’s scores that capped off eight- and nine-play drives. Quarterback Jackson Proctor also made significant contributions, throwing a 5-yard touchdown pass to Chris Corbo just 15 seconds before halftime, giving the Big Green a commanding 21-7 lead.

Proctor had an efficient night, completing 21 of his 30 passing attempts for a total of 185 yards, and he added to his performance by rushing for 30 yards on seven carries. On the other side, Princeton’s quarterback Blaine Hipa completed 11 of his 18 passes for 137 yards, along with two touchdowns.

The only scoring in the third quarter came when Hipa found Luke Colella in the end zone for an 18-yard touchdown, narrowing the gap to 21-14. This score followed a controversial moment when Dartmouth was flagged for pass interference on a fourth-and-2 situation at their own 33-yard line.

Dartmouth regained a two-score advantage in the fourth quarter with a 44-yard field goal kicked by Owen Zalc, extending their lead to 24-14. This scoring opportunity arose after Princeton’s AJ Barber fumbled during a punt return, which was recovered by Braden Mullen for Dartmouth.

Princeton responded with a 27-yard field goal from Sam Massick, making the score 24-17 with 6:30 still on the clock. However, the Tigers found themselves backed up at their own 2-yard line following a series of unsuccessful plays. In a critical moment, Hipa was flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone, resulting in a safety and concluding the game at 26-17.
