A small group of llamas was seen wandering along the train tracks in Provo, Utah, on Thursday evening after reportedly breaking free from their owner, as stated by the local transit officials.
In response to the sighting, several emergency personnel were sent to the scene to corral the five llamas, who had been spotted near the Union Pacific rail line. Fortunately, the presence of these woolly animals did not disrupt train operations, according to spokesperson for the transit authority, Gavin Gustafson.
As of 10 p.m. local time, approximately three and a half hours after the responders arrived, it was unclear if the llamas had been successfully captured. This incident took place about 43 miles (69 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City.
Details surrounding the escape of the llamas, as well as their origins, remained unknown at the time of reporting.
