WASHINGTON — In a significant announcement, President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles, who oversaw his successful campaign, as the White House chief of staff.
Wiles has garnered acknowledgement from both Trump’s circle and political observers for executing a particularly organized and effective campaign. Notably, she chose to stay out of the limelight, opting not to speak at the celebration of Trump’s victory in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Susie embodies toughness, intelligence, and innovation, and she is held in high regard by many. Her dedication to the mission of Making America Great Again will be unwavering,” Trump expressed in an official statement. “It is a historic honor to have Susie serve as the first female Chief of Staff in United States history, and I am confident she will make our nation proud.”
Wiles has a robust background as a Republican strategist based in Florida, having led Trump’s campaign efforts in the state during both the 2016 and 2020 elections. Prior to her work with Trump, she managed Rick Scott’s gubernatorial campaign in 2010 and briefly took the helm of Jon Huntsman’s presidential campaign in 2012.
