Democratic Representative Salud Carbajal successfully secured reelection to his U.S. House position representing California this past Wednesday.
Carbajal, who had previously held a seat on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, initially entered the House of Representatives in 2017.
His congressional district encompasses regions along California’s central coast, including key cities such as Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo.
Having served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for eight years, Carbajal brings military experience to his role.
He emerged victorious over Republican challenger Thomas Cole, with the news of his victory being announced at 3:14 a.m. EST.
