Republican Chuck Edwards secured his position in the U.S. House during the elections held on Tuesday, representing the state of North Carolina.
In the contest, Edwards triumphed over Democratic candidate Caleb Rudow, ensuring his second consecutive term in Congress for the 11th District, which includes all or parts of 16 mountainous counties.
A well-known figure in the area, Edwards has operated McDonald’s franchises throughout western North Carolina for many years.
He began his political career in the state Senate in 2016 and made his way to Congress after winning a competitive Republican primary against former 11th District GOP Representative Madison Cawthorn in 2022.
Currently, Edwards serves on the House appropriations and budget committees, contributing to his responsibilities in Congress.
The announcement of Edwards’ victory came at 10:06 p.m. EST, marking a significant moment in his political journey.
