WASHINGTON — Republican Nathaniel Moran secured his reelection for a U.S. House seat representing Texas in the recent election.
Moran faced no challengers in the contest for the 1st Congressional District, which encompasses a substantial area across 17 counties in the eastern part of Texas.
An experienced attorney, Moran has previously held the position of county judge in Smith County, and he first joined the U.S. House in 2022.
The congressional seat was formerly occupied by fellow Republican Louie Gohmert, who made an unsuccessful attempt to become the Texas attorney general last year.
