CARROLLTON, Ga.
— Latrelle Murrell showcased an impressive performance by rushing for 139 yards and scoring three touchdowns as West Georgia decisively defeated the winless Lincoln (CA) team with a score of 88-21 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.
The game began with an explosive play when Jack Clavel connected with CJ Broy on a 21-yard touchdown pass, putting the Oaklanders ahead 6-0. However, their attempt for the extra point was thwarted as Owen Meister’s kick got blocked. Jelen Lee took advantage of the situation, returning the block for a defensive two-point conversion, narrowing the score to 6-2. Clavel and Broy teamed up again late in the first half, executing a 61-yard touchdown pass that reduced West Georgia’s lead to 44-12 with just 1:48 remaining before halftime.
On the ground, West Georgia (3-6) dominated, amassing 324 rushing yards along with seven rushing touchdowns. Rajaez Mosley contributed significantly with 110 yards on 11 carries while scoring two touchdowns. In the passing game, Quincy Casey completed 5 of 7 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns, while Davin Wydner succeeded with 6 out of 9 for 91 yards and one touchdown.
For Lincoln, Clavel had a challenging day, finishing 17-of-28 for 194 yards but was intercepted twice, while Broy caught six passes for 95 yards in a valiant effort despite the loss.
