CLEVELAND — Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah of the Cleveland Browns has been released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury during the team’s victory against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The injury occurred late in the third quarter when Owusu-Koramoah collided with Ravens running back Derrick Henry while making a tackle. Wearing a protective padded guardian cap, he appeared to lose consciousness when he fell to the ground.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Owusu-Koramoah has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering, although he did not go into detail regarding the specific nature of the injury or how long the team’s leading tackler might be sidelined.

In addition to Owusu-Koramoah’s situation, Stefanski also mentioned that the team’s top cornerback, Denzel Ward, is currently in the concussion protocol, having experienced at least six known concussions throughout his NFL career.

The incident involving Owusu-Koramoah left a significant impact on his teammates. Medical staff had to remove his facemask, and he was placed on a backboard for transportation. Fortunately, the team reported that he had full movement in all of his limbs.

The 24-year-old linebacker spent the night at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center for precautionary measures and additional tests.

Following his release, Owusu-Koramoah shared a reassuring message on social media stating, “All is well. Alhamdulillah.”

A former standout at Notre Dame, Owusu-Koramoah was selected by the Browns in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In August, he signed a lucrative three-year contract extension worth $39 million.
