NEW YORK — Officials at Rockefeller Center revealed on Monday that this year’s iconic Christmas tree will make its way to New York City from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

The selected Norway spruce is scheduled to be felled on November 7 and will then embark on a journey of approximately 140 miles (225 kilometers) to reach midtown Manhattan, with its arrival set for November 9.

The grand lighting ceremony of the tree is planned to take place during a live television event on December 4.

Since the 1930s, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has stood as a symbol of the holiday season in New York City, drawing countless visitors who come to admire its splendor every year.

This year marks a special occasion, as it is the first tree to be sourced from Massachusetts since 1959, as confirmed by the officials at Rockefeller Center.
