INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers reported on Thursday that center James Wiseman has suffered a torn left Achilles tendon during his debut game with the team.
Wiseman sustained the injury in the opening quarter of the Pacers’ 115-109 win against Detroit on Wednesday night. After scoring six points in just over four minutes of play, he left the game limping following a missed three-point attempt.
Following the game, an MRI was conducted, which confirmed the severity of the injury. The Pacers are currently collaborating with Wiseman to evaluate potential treatment options moving forward.
This offseason, Wiseman, who was the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, joined the Pacers after spending the last season and a half with the Detroit Pistons.
