A train traveling along Norway’s northern shoreline derailed on Thursday, with reports indicating it was carrying between 50 to 70 passengers. Authorities have yet to provide any information regarding injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
The train, known as the Arctic Circle Express, was en route to Bodoe, a town located within the northern reaches of the country. According to the Norwegian news agency NTB, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center for northern Norway confirmed the number of individuals on board.
Images shared by Norwegian media outlets depict the locomotive alongside at least two passenger cars that were affected by the derailment. This incident took place near Bodoe, situated just above the Arctic Circle, raising concerns about the safety of rail transport in that region.
