LONDON — On Tuesday, Prince William engaged in a flag football activity with British teenagers during an event hosted by the NFL.
Young people from various cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, and London, gathered at a field hockey pitch in Kennington Park, South London.
Phoebe Schecter, who leads Britain’s women’s flag football team, humorously encouraged William to tap into his “inner Shakira” by incorporating some hip movement when he threw the American football.
Flag football is set to be introduced as an Olympic event at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, marking an exciting milestone for the sport.
Prince William, known for his passion for soccer and his role as a patron of the English Football Association, frequently attends significant sports events, such as the Wimbledon tennis championships.
He humorously remarked that he attempts various sports, but his skills may not be exceptional.
The NFL has been actively promoting the expansion of flag football on a global scale, aiming to attract younger audiences and future enthusiasts.
This event was part of a series of initiatives organized by NFL Foundation UK to encourage youth participation in the sport.
