Serpent makes its way into Dodgers dugout during NLCS defeat against Mets

LOS ANGELES — During Game 2 of the National League Championship Series on Monday, a snake made an unexpected appearance in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ dugout.
The incident occurred in the top of the fifth inning while the Dodgers were facing off against the New York Mets, ultimately losing the game 7-3. The snake was not particularly large and did not seem to cause alarm among those present.
“I was hoping it was a rally snake, and perhaps we would see a turnaround right after that,” said reliever Brent Honeywell. “But it was just a little something to get the boys moving a bit differently after everything that had happened.”
A member of the grounds crew quickly wrapped the serpent in a towel and removed it from the area.
FOX play-by-play commentator Joe Davis added humor to the moment, jokingly referencing a film trend with, “We’ve had ‘Snakes on a Plane,’ ‘Snakes on a Train,’ and now the latest Hollywood blockbuster: ‘Snake in the Dugout.’”
However, the snake’s presence didn’t quite measure up to the notoriety of the San Diego Padres’ rally goose, which famously landed on the field at Dodger Stadium the previous year.
