Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is set to rejoin the team this week following a suspension for conduct deemed detrimental. Coach Matt LaFleur expressed his expectation of Doubs’ return after the team’s triumphant 24-19 win against the Los Angeles Rams. LaFleur mentioned that he planned to have a discussion with Doubs on Monday to address the situation. The coach emphasized the need to focus on the task at hand despite distractions, acknowledging that such challenges are part of both NFL and life in general.

During Doubs’ absence from practice on Thursday and Friday, tight end Tucker Kraft and wide receiver Jayden Reed stepped up. Kraft recorded four receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while Reed contributed with four catches for 78 yards, showcasing an impressive play in the first quarter. A notable moment occurred with a 53-yard completion from Jordan Love to Reed, who managed to secure the ball despite being closely covered by three Rams defenders.

Reed mentioned in a statement that he is unaware of Doubs’ current status but highlighted the importance of maintaining unity within the team. Doubs, who has 12 receptions for 169 yards in the first four games of the season, was a significant contributor in the previous season with 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. The wide receiver concluded his 2023 season with impactful performances in the Packers’ playoff games.

Having been part of the Packers since he was drafted in the fourth round in 2022 from Nevada, Doubs has been a consistent presence on the team. His impending return is anticipated to bolster the squad as they progress through the current NFL season.
