Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane suffered a concussion in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, leading to his early departure from the field. The injury occurred when Jaylinn Hawkins made a helmet-to-helmet hit on Achane along the sideline, causing a delay as Achane slowly got up after gaining 12 yards in the first quarter.
The team later confirmed the concussion and announced that Achane would not be able to return to the game. This injury comes at a challenging time for Achane, who had an impressive rookie season last year with an average of 7.8 yards per carry. However, this season, he has only managed to accumulate 165 yards on 53 carries, averaging 3.1 yards.
Miami Dolphins’ concerns deepened with this concussion diagnosis, given the history of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa facing multiple brain injuries throughout the season. Protecting players from head injuries has become a significant focus for the team and the league as a whole.
The Miami Dolphins will need to closely monitor De’Von Achane’s recovery process and ensure that he receives the necessary medical attention and support to facilitate his return to the field when he is fully cleared to resume playing.
