Coco Carrasquilla’s goal in the 83rd minute secured a 1-0 victory for the Houston Dynamo over Austin FC on Saturday night. The win contributed to Houston’s current five-game unbeaten streak, during which they have only conceded two goals. With 48 points, the Dynamo are just one point behind Los Angeles FC in the Western Conference standings.
The winning goal came after Erik Sviatchenko headed the ball back to the center of the area from Amine Bassi’s corner kick, where Carrasquilla executed a stunning bicycle-kick finish to give Houston the lead.
Meanwhile, Austin FC has been struggling, with three losses in their last four games. Goalkeeper Brad Stuver made three saves for Austin but could not prevent the defeat.
Houston’s victory against Austin FC marks an important step for the Dynamo as they continue their push for a higher position in the Western Conference standings.
