Man sets two women on fire by pouring gasoline on them, leading to their hospitalization

Two women were hospitalized in Detroit on Monday after an incident where a man reportedly poured gasoline on them and set them on fire. The attack took place at approximately 6 a.m. as the women were arriving at their workplace, according to a report by WJBK-TV. Detroit Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Chief Dennis Richardson stated that the man ignited the gasoline with a cigarette lighter after dousing the victims. Both women sustained serious injuries and were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital, while the man involved also received medical treatment for minor injuries.
Authorities revealed that the man was an employee at the business where the attack occurred and had recently faced either a suspension or termination. He allegedly held the belief that the women shared some responsibility for his employment situation. Police Chief James White announced intentions to recommend charging the man with attempted murder, although the identity of the suspect has not been disclosed.
