Jalen Ramsey, Dolphins’ All-Pro cornerback, signs 3-year contract extension worth $24.1 million annually, according to AP source

The Miami Dolphins have reached a significant deal with All-Pro Jalen Ramsey, agreeing on a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension. This agreement, making Ramsey the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, was reported by the NFL Network just days after the Denver Broncos secured Patrick Surtain II with a four-year contract extension. Ramsey’s new contract will see him earn $24.1 million per year, surpassing recent top defensive back earners such as Antoine Winfield Jr. and Jaire Alexander.
Ramsey joined the Dolphins through a trade with the Los Angeles Rams last year but faced a setback with a knee injury during his first training camp with Miami. Despite this, he returned to the field and had an impressive season with three interceptions and 22 tackles. Ramsey has been dealing with a hamstring injury this week, causing him to miss practice on Wednesday and Thursday leading up to the Dolphins’ season opener against Jacksonville on Sunday. This new deal solidifies Ramsey’s status as one of the highest-paid defensive backs in the NFL once again.
