Authorities in southern California are on the lookout for a missing couple who vanished after leaving their home at a nudist ranch last weekend. Stephanie Menard, 73, and her husband, Daniel, 79, were reported missing by a concerned friend to the Redlands Police Department, as per the Los Angeles Times.
The couple’s unlocked car was discovered near their home on Sunday, with both their phones and Stephanie Menard’s purse still inside the residence. Their pet dog, a small Shih Tzu named Cuddles, is also missing.
Daniel Menard has diabetes and dementia, which adds urgency to the search efforts. The pair was last seen on Saturday morning in the vicinity of their home. Tammie Wilkerson, a friend of the couple, revealed to KABC-TV that the Menards reside at the Olive Dell Ranch nudist resort, situated approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
Describing the missing couple as kind-hearted individuals, Wilkerson expressed her confusion over their disappearance: “They’re very sweet people. There’s not a mean bone in their body at all, which makes this very confusing.”
