Two dogs tragically killed a 3-month-old infant in a Rochester residence over the weekend, as confirmed by police on Tuesday. Following a 911 call reporting the attack, officers arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon. The responding team found the baby boy with severe injuries and quickly transported him to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
The authorities removed two “pit-bull type” dogs from the home, suspected to be the ones involved in the fatal incident, as per the police statement. An investigation, involving the police, Child Protective Services, and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, is currently in progress to determine the events leading up to the tragic death of the child. However, no further details have been disclosed by the police at this time, and no immediate charges have been brought forth.
