In Greentown, Indiana, a tragic incident occurred as a man lost his life due to electrocution while assisting with the setup for a 4-H fair. The victim, identified as Jose Julian Garcia Oropeza, 36, passed away on Saturday during the preparations at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Reports from WXIN-TV detailed that Oropeza was involved in setting up a food vendor when he and his coworkers encountered an electric shock.
Following the electrocution, Oropeza became unconscious, and his colleagues promptly transported him to a local fire station in Greentown. However, despite their efforts, he was pronounced deceased later that same evening. The Howard County Coroner’s Office, along with the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, have initiated investigations into the tragic event.
