A woman from Chicago, Sandra Kolalou, has been given a 58-year prison sentence for the murder and dismemberment of her 69-year-old landlord, Frances Walker. The sentencing took place on Wednesday, as reported by WGN-TV. Kolalou was convicted by a Cook County jury in April on various charges, including first-degree murder and concealing a homicidal death. She committed the crime in October 2022 after receiving an eviction notice from Walker.
Kolalou’s arrest came after she brandished a knife at a tow truck driver who had taken her to a beach along Chicago’s lakefront. Prosecutors revealed that she disposed of a heavy bag into a garbage can at the beach and threatened the driver with the knife when he declined to transport her elsewhere. Following the discovery of Walker’s severed head, arms, and legs in a freezer at their Chicago residence on the city’s Northwest Side, Kolalou was charged with the crime.
During the sentencing hearing, the 39-year-old Kolalou maintained that she never harmed Walker.
