Arizona election staffer faces charges for theft of fob and other offenses

A temporary election worker in Arizona’s largest county, Walter Ringfield, faces additional charges, including third-degree burglary and criminal trespassing. An indictment states that Ringfeld stole items from a secure area in the Arizona Legislature on June 15. This comes after Ringfield was previously charged with computer tampering for taking a security fob on June 20, giving him access to vote tabulators in Maricopa County. Ringfield was arrested at his Phoenix home the following day after election workers noticed the missing fob.
In another incident, Ringfield is accused of theft for allegedly stealing $9,500 worth of vintage jewelry from mannequins at the Phoenix Art Museum on May 20. Brian Body, the attorney representing Ringfield in the three cases, has not responded to requests for comments.
