Tragedy strikes NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan’s 19-year-old daughter who is fighting cancer

Isabella Strahan, the 19-year-old daughter of NFL Hall of Famer and “Good Morning America” co-anchor Michael Strahan, is currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer.

In a prerecorded videotape segment alongside her father and fellow GMA co-anchor Robin Roberts, Isabella discussed her diagnosis of medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor. The segment was filmed at the show’s studios in New York and aired during the morning news show.

Isabella revealed that she received the diagnosis in October during her freshman year at Southern Cal. Experiencing progressively worsening headaches, dizziness, and waking up bleeding at the end of the month, she underwent emergency surgery to remove a golf-ball-sized tumor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following the surgery, she endured four weeks of rehabilitation and several rounds of radiation treatment, resulting in hair loss.

Despite the challenges, Isabella expressed, “I’m doing good. Not too bad. I’m very excited for this whole process to wrap, but you just have to keep living every day.” The next phase of her recovery involves chemotherapy at Duke University, where her twin sister, Sophia, attends.

Throughout the interview, Isabella, visibly emotional, paused to wipe away tears, particularly when contemplating returning to school and restarting her life. Michael Strahan, a former New York Giants defensive end and Super Bowl winner, expressed deep gratitude for having an amazing daughter and emphasized his confidence in her ability to overcome the challenges.

Acknowledging his own vulnerability, Michael Strahan shared that he realized he wasn’t as strong as he thought and relied on support from those around him. Turning to Isabella, he expressed his love for her and conveyed his belief that she would be around, pestering people for years to come.
