A taxicab struck six individuals in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon, according to law enforcement reports. Among those injured were three people, including a 9-year-old boy, who were subsequently taken to local hospitals to receive medical attention for their injuries.

Officials from the New York Police Department indicated that the driver of the taxi might have experienced a medical issue prior to the incident; however, investigations are ongoing, and no definitive conclusions have been reached yet.

The injured individuals were transported to two different medical facilities; two, including the young boy, were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, while another victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital. The remaining three victims declined medical assistance and were reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. when the taxi jumped the curb in the vicinity of Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square, colliding with pedestrians on the sidewalk. Officers noted that the driver stayed at the location following the crash.

Footage captured at the scene depicted a yellow taxi that had sustained significant damage while resting on the sidewalk, surrounded by police tape. The front bumper of the vehicle appeared to be missing. Later in the evening, the taxi was towed away from the area.
