PARIS — After over five years of intensive restoration efforts, Notre Dame Cathedral is set to reveal its renewed grandeur to the public this coming Friday, marking a pivotal moment in its recovery from the catastrophic blaze that occurred in 2019.

French President Emmanuel Macron is making one final trip to the construction site, where he will personally observe the restored interior spaces before the historic site is reopened for worship on December 8th.

The two-hour tour, which will be broadcast live, is anticipated to showcase the stunning renovations, featuring beautifully restored stonework and vibrant hues, alongside other achievements from the extensive restoration effort.

During the visit, Macron will be accompanied by various artisans, architects, business executives, and benefactors, as he recognizes the remarkable craftsmanship and commitment of those who dedicated their efforts to the cathedral’s revival.

This occasion marks the beginning of a series of events leading up to the reopening of the 12th-century Gothic marvel.

Macron plans to return on December 7th to deliver a speech and to partake in the consecration of the new altar during a solemn Mass the next day.

Under Macron’s administration, the renovation project is being celebrated as a representation of national solidarity and the resilient spirit of the French people.
