LOS ANGELES — Fans of Kendrick Lamar were treated to a delightful surprise when the acclaimed artist released his new album unexpectedly on Friday.

Titled “GNX,” this 12-track collection marks Lamar’s first album since 2022’s “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” making it his sixth studio album to date.
The drop arrives just a few months following Lamar’s much-publicized rap battle with Drake, adding to the excitement surrounding the release.

In addition to launching the new album, Lamar is set to take the stage as the headlining act for the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans this coming February.

The 37-year-old artist has seen tremendous success since he burst onto the scene with his debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” back in 2012.
Lamar has achieved 17 Grammy awards and made history as the first musician outside of classical and jazz genres to win a Pulitzer Prize, awarded for his 2017 work, “DAMN.”

This surprise album release comes at the end of a noteworthy year for Lamar, who has also collaborated on “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin—a track that dominated the Billboard Hot 100 charts, maintaining its No. 1 position for three consecutive weeks.
Additionally, he achieved more success with the track “Not Like Us,” which draws inspiration from his feud with Drake.

With this unanticipated new album and a dynamic performance ahead, Kendrick Lamar continues to solidify his place as a powerhouse in the music industry.
