Italy, the defending champion, set to face Argentina in Davis Cup Finals scheduled for November

Defending champion Italy is set to face Argentina in the opening round of the Davis Cup Finals scheduled for November. The draw, which took place in Malaga, Spain, also determined that the United States will go up against Australia, Germany will compete against Canada, and the Netherlands will play against Spain in the quarter-finals.

Italy, Spain, Canada, and the U.S. were named as the seeded nations following their victories in the group stages last week, during which the qualifying matches were held in various cities.

The victor of the Italy-Argentina match will advance to the semifinals to play against the winner of the U.S. versus Australia match. The team that emerges triumphant from the Germany-Canada clash will then face off against the Netherlands or Spain in the following round.

In the previous year, Italy secured their first Davis Cup championship since 1976 by defeating Australia in the final, which also took place in Malaga.
