Harris and Oprah Winfrey to hold livestream as Trump is scheduled to speak at Israeli-American event

Both major presidential candidates are engaging in events to energize their core supporters. Vice President Kamala Harris is set to participate in a livestream with Oprah Winfrey, while Donald Trump will attend an event with prominent Jewish donors before speaking at the Israeli-American Council gathering.

Winfrey, a supporter of Harris, will host a two-hour “Unite for America” streaming session in Michigan with Harris, aiming to showcase various grassroots groups supporting the vice president.

Trump will be in Washington to address a “Fighting Anti-Semitism in America” event with Miriam Adelson, a prominent figure in the Jewish community and widow of billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who was a significant donor to the Republican Party.

Trump is also scheduled to speak at the Israeli-American Council event, traditionally supported by Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban, a major donor to President Joe Biden and Democratic causes.

Harris plans campaign stops in swing states Wisconsin and Georgia on Friday, drawing attention to the case of a young mother who tragically passed away after complications from an abortion pill due to long waiting times at a hospital. Harris attributes this outcome to actions taken during Trump’s presidency.

Amber Thurman’s death was reported shortly after Georgia implemented a strict abortion ban in 2022 following a Supreme Court decision overturning nationwide abortion rights, a decision influenced by justices appointed by Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in battleground North Carolina on Saturday. These campaign activities come after the Federal Reserve made a significant half-point interest rate cut, a move that could impact the economic landscape leading up to the election.

In response to potential concerns about political motives behind the rate cut, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized the Biden administration’s respect for the independence of the Federal Reserve, highlighting a departure from past administrations’ handling of such matters.
