In Windsor, New Hampshire, a child was stuck between two boulders for over nine hours before rescuers successfully freed them, according to the town’s fire chief on Monday. The child, believed to be around 11 or 12 years old, was rescued around 3:15 a.m. and then transported to the hospital for a check-up, as reported by WMUR-TV. Windsor is situated approximately 30 miles to the west of Concord, the state’s capital city. These boulders were located near the Wediko School, a facility that houses boys in middle and high school for residential treatment purposes.
After receiving a distress call just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, the Hillsborough Fire Department immediately responded to the scene. Firefighters utilized ropes and a lubricant to successfully extract the child from between the boulders. Requests for comments were sent to the fire department, which coordinated the joint rescue operation, as well as to the school.
