Tropical Storm Francine develops near Mexico, heading towards Louisiana’s coastline

The National Hurricane Center based in Miami has reported the formation of Tropical Storm Francine near the Mexican coast. The storm is currently situated approximately 245 miles (395 kilometers) southeast of the Rio Grande river’s mouth and roughly 480 miles (770 kilometers) south-southeast of Cameron, Louisiana. Francine is carrying maximum sustained winds reaching 50 miles per hour (85 kilometers per hour). The storm is predicted to head towards the coast of Louisiana.
