Vistara airline plane diverted to Turkey due to bomb threat

A flight operated by Vistara Airlines traveling from Mumbai to Frankfurt was forced to make an emergency landing in Turkey due to a bomb threat, as per a Turkish official. The incident occurred on Flight UK27, which had 247 passengers and crew members on board. The plane landed at Erzurum airport in eastern Turkey, according to Governor Mustafa Ciftci as reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency.
Upon landing, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft, and authorities commenced a thorough search of the luggage as a precautionary measure, Ciftci stated. The decision to land the plane was made by the pilots following a passenger’s claim of a bomb threat after the aircraft entered Turkish airspace, as reported by HaberTurk television.
Governor Ciftci also mentioned that the airspace over Erzurum was closed as a safety measure. Vistara Airlines informed via the X media platform that the diversion to Erzurum airport was made for security reasons, ensuring that the landing was executed safely.
