Charles Leclerc achieved a remarkable victory for Ferrari at the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, bringing joy to the home supporters as the team’s strategic one-stop plan proved successful. Ferrari, equipped with nine upgrades for their home race, opted for a single pit stop along with a few other teams. Despite facing tire degradation issues, Leclerc effectively defended his position against Oscar Piastri and McLaren’s Lando Norris. The enthusiastic tifosi, wearing red, cheered on Leclerc as he relentlessly circuited the track, celebrating wildly as he crossed the finish line 2.664 seconds in front of Piastri. Norris, who started at pole position, trailed 6.153 seconds behind Leclerc, while Red Bull’s championship leader Max Verstappen secured sixth place.
The victory marked Ferrari’s second win at their home track in the last 14 races, with Leclerc previously triumphing in 2019. Prior to this impressive win, the Italian team had only secured a second-place finish with Leclerc in 2022 and a third-place finish with Sainz last year, following their 2019 victory.
