He had been in and out of the hospital recently due to an illness. Pascrell was known for his dedication to his constituents and was set to run for a 15th term in the upcoming election.
Pascrell was a strong advocate for emergency responders and was instrumental in creating legislation that provided grant funding to fire departments nationwide. He also played a key role in establishing the Great Falls as a national historical park, showcasing the significance of the waterfall in Paterson’s history.
Recognized for his direct approach and involvement in New Jersey’s politics, Pascrell served on the House Ways and Means Committee, focusing on tax-related legislation.
