Lawrence Butler had an impressive game hitting three home runs, while Brent Rooker and Seth Brown each contributed with two homers as the Oakland Athletics dominated the Philadelphia Phillies with an 18-3 victory. Butler recorded six RBIs, and Rooker tied his career-high with five RBIs. Despite being low in the standings, Oakland managed to hit a total of eight home runs in the game, collectively reaching an estimated 3,340 feet.

The Phillies’ Zack Gelof hit a grand slam in the ninth inning off catcher Garrett Stubbs. Trea Turner homered for the Phillies, who were leading the league in wins ahead of the Braves before the game. Alec Bohm added two doubles to his MLB-leading total of 33.

Joey Estes pitched a strong game for the Athletics, allowing only two earned runs on four hits in six innings. The loss marked Philadelphia’s third home series defeat of the season, their first since the start of the season.

Butler’s home runs were particularly impressive, including a 449-foot shot into the second deck in right-center field. Rooker also had a standout performance, hitting two home runs, with one traveling an estimated 450 feet over the batter’s eye and the other landing 452 feet away in Ashburn Alley.

After the All-Star break, the Phillies will face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates, while the Athletics will host the Los Angeles Angels.
