Investigation shows inaccurate online reports about Biden’s alleged ‘medical emergency’ on Air Force One

0

Misinformation regarding President Joe Biden having a medical emergency while returning to Delaware after a campaign stop in Wisconsin circulated on social media but lacks credibility. The claim that Biden experienced a medical emergency aboard Air Force One on Friday is false. An Associated Press reporter who accompanied Biden on the flight confirmed that there were no indications of a medical emergency during the journey. Air Force One landed in Delaware without any issues at 7:22 p.m., where the President disembarked, saluted, conversed with an officer, and responded to a reporter’s query before departing the airport.

Despite the baseless rumors, video footage shows Biden descending from Air Force One, interacting with personnel, answering questions from reporters, and entering a vehicle without incident. There was no evidence to support claims of a medical emergency aboard Air Force One, and press access was not restricted. A White House spokesperson denounced the false allegations as entirely untrue.

Posts suggesting that the press did not witness Biden’s arrival at his home are clarified by the fact that a press pool was present in his motorcade, although journalists did not observe him entering his house since it is set back from the street. Public events for Saturday were not scheduled for President Biden, who had intended to speak at a National Education Association convention on Sunday but canceled due to a staff strike. Despite this cancellation, Biden’s commitment to unions was reiterated by his campaign, affirming his plan to travel to Pennsylvania over the weekend.

Associated Press reporters Colleen Long and Zeke Miller provided insights for this report on verifying the misinformation surrounding President Biden’s alleged medical emergency.
