12-year-old shot during snowball fight

A 12-year-old was shot multiple times in Hartford, Connecticut, after throwing a snowball at a passing car around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. Child recovers, suspect at large

The 12-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The 11-year-old was unhurt. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the unknown gunman, who fled the scene. No arrests had been made as of Sunday, and investigators continue to gather clues.

History of snowball trouble

Though usually innocent fun, snowballs have sparked various incidents over the years, from rowdy sports fans pelting players to stricter local ordinances. One town in Wisconsin has even outlawed snowball throwing in public spaces.
